 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT

 Vounteer Opportunities
with the GVR Metropolitan District

Volunteers do not get paid.  Not becasue they're worthless... but because they're priceless - Sherry Anderson submitted by Walt Cross, GVR Volunteer for many years!

There are several opportunties currently for volunteers within the community to participate in one of the GVR Metropolitan District's working committees.  These committees generally meet once a month for the majority of the year and depending on the specific committee, more at specific times of the year.  Please call Dee Mares, Office Manager for the District at (303) 307-3240 to express any interest you may have on sitting on one of these committees.

Currently we are soliciting participation on the following committes:

COMMUNITY SERVICE Opportunities

The GVR Metropolitan District, as a form of local government, accepts court mandated community service work for the following counties:  Arapahoe County, Denver County.

If you have community service hours that you must perform, and live close to the GVR Metro District, contact Ken Albert, Facilities Manager at 720-641-2769 to coordinate a meeting to discuss working your hours with our District.  Please note, at this time the work that will be performed will primarily be outside, landscape related manual labor type work.

    • Landscape and Maintenance Committee
*This committee works with the landscape and maintenance crews and contractors for the District to help identify work priorities and communicate concerns received from the community to those doing the work.  It also helps identify work progress on larger tasks and plan for additional future development of the District and our common areas.  If you have landscape knowledge and/or an interest in trees and common areas, your work would be beneficial to this committee.

    • Planning and Implementation Committee
*The Planning and Implementation Committee is a group that works to gain feedback from the community and set up proposals to the Board after analyzing different opportunities for the District.  If you have survey experience and or a statistical and creative thinking background, this committee would be good for you.

    • HOA Committee
*The HOA Committee works to communicate between the HOA Board of Directors, the community and the GVR Metropolitan District with regards to rules and regulations and covenant enforcment.

    • Financial and Budgeting Committee
*This committee works with administrative staff and the Board Treasurer throughout the Budget process to help recommend a proposed budget to the Board of Directors in October each year.  This committee doesn't meet regularly throughout the year, but does meet often during the budget planning part of the year (September - December).

    • Newsletter Committee
*"The Metro" newsletter is a bimonthly publication of the GVR Metropolitan District.  This committee works with staff and board members to help assist in writing articles, reviewing submitted articles and letters to the editor, and helps format the layout of the publication for print.  People with good writing and reading skills are great candidates for this committee.  This committee meets once a month as needed and does some work through the month via email.

    • Community Programs Committee
*This committee works with the program staff for the District and helps identify and evaluate programs and helps work to enhance programs for the future.  Ideal candidates are those that have worked with children's programming in the past or who have a passion for youth.  This committee meets once a month, typically on the first Thursday at 9 am.

THE MASTER HOA FOR GREEN VALLEY RANCH ALSO HAS SEVERAL INDEPENDENT COMMITTEES THAT ALWAYS NEED ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS.  PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING OUT YOUR COMMUNITY VIA VOLUNTEERING ON A COMMITTEE.
